LMV MEANS IN DRIVING LICENSE

LMV means Light Motor vehicle in driving license . As per Motor Vehicle Act,1988 LMV means motor vehicle having laiden weight under 7500 kg.

Which Category of vehicle that can be driven under LMV category of vehicle

LMV includes below category of vehicle,

1.Passenger cars (Like Alto,Wagonar,i10,Swift etc.)

2.Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV)(Like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq etc.)

3.Minivans (Like Toyota Innova, Tata Magic etc.)

4.Pickup trucks (Falling under transport category having laiden weight less than 7500 kg like Mahindra bolero ,I-suzu D-Max etc.)

Eligibility and Procedure to obtain LMV License

Eligibility :-

The minimum age to obtain LMV category license is 18 years.

Procedure :-

First you have to get Learning License ,

If you have License for any two wheel category you will get learning license without appearing for the computer test but if you do not have any kind of license then you have to pass computer test to get learning license,

Please follow below given steps ,

  1. Go to https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice/stateSelection.do
  2. Then select your state
  3. Go to apply for learner license
  4. Select
    • “Applicant does not hold any driving license”(if you are not having any type of driving license)
    • “Applicant holds Driving License”(if you are having license for two wheeler)
  5. Fill up all the details required and  apply for learning license.
  6. So first learning license issued to you under which The applicant can learn driving ONLY in the presence of an experienced driving instructor who is holding a valid permanent driving licence.
  7. After completion of 30 days from the date of issuing of learning license you can book test appointment online and visit your RTO to give license test.

How to download driving license online?

To download a soft copy of your driving license, you have two options: the Parivahan website and DigiLocker. Here are the steps for each method:

Through Parivahan Website:

  • Visit the official Parivahan website at https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/.
  • Go to ‘Online Services’ and click on ‘Driving Licence Related Services.’
  • You will be redirected to a new page where you need to select your state.
  • Under the ‘Driving Licence’ section, click on ‘Print Driving Licence.’
  • Enter your date of birth and application number.
  • Click on ‘Submit.’
  • Your driving licence will be displayed on the screen. You can save it as a PDF or print it.

Through DigiLocker

  • Visit the official website of DigiLocker at https://www.digilocker.gov.in/.
  • Log into your account using your Aadhaar number, username, or mobile number.
  • An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter it and log in.
  • Enter the 6-digit security PIN.
  • Click the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Choose the ‘Driving Licence’ option from the ‘Issued Documents’ menu.
  • Enter your driving licence number.
  • You will be able to download your driving licence in PDF format.

What is maximum age for dricing license in india?

There is no maximum age limit defined in motor vehicle act,1988 ,But you have to submit medical fitness certificate  at every renewal.
